Cybersecurity is one of the fastest growing sectors today, but critical gaps exist in the workforce. To help fill those gaps, Columbus State Community College received a grant to create a new cybersecurity program. Their program sits at the intersection between career pathways and a secure digital world. The Columbus State grants team came to Grafica to help them develop a visual identity and brand messaging for the program.
We created a verbal and visual language that says high-tech without being too technical. At the center of the design solution is the name of the program: Hyperlink. Simple typography references the sharp angles created by digital screens. Underlining key words gives a nod to code and HTML links. We reinforced the idea of the jobs gap by introducing a pixel pattern with missing elements, and we used that same grid to create an icon system. We wrote and designed a simple identity guide to help the Columbus State team carry the design system forward.
